Lead course

Price: NOK 879 per person, all necessary equipment is included. The course lasts 3.5 hours and takes you on from top rope to lead climbing and lead belaying.

Requires a minimum of four participants.
Binding registration.
Participants must have turned 13 by the last day of the course, and those under 18 must have their guardian's consent.

Once you've completed the course, you're ready for the Brattkort test, which is free for our course participants (others can take the test for NOK 250). The time is arranged by email: letohallen@hoytundertaket.no.

About the lead course

The lead course is for those who have completed a top-rope course or have a top-rope certificate, and who want to take the next step towards the Brattkort. Here you build on the basic skills and learn to belay correctly, use equipment safely and behave safely at the climbing centre.

Through the course you get practical experience of lead climbing and close follow-up from experienced instructors. You learn to handle the rope efficiently, clip the quickdraws correctly and belay with control and precision. Although belaying is central, you're active on the wall throughout the course – we work on movement, flow and communication with your climbing partner.

After completing the course you get two weeks of free rope climbing with us. Rope, belay device, harness and shoes are included, so you can keep practising and consolidate your skills.
