HUT Letohallen is looking for a skilled and committed assistant department manager in a permanent position. In this role you become a key person in the development of the centre – with responsibility for daily operations, health & safety and customer delivery, as well as support for the team and events. Experience with route setting is a plus and can be part of the duties as needed.

Start: By agreement, as soon as possible – winter/spring 2026
Position percentage: By agreement, 50–100%
Place of work: HUT Letohallen

Your most important tasks

  • Ensure stable and safe operation at the centre – shift responsibility, opening/closing routines and good customer delivery
  • Health & safety and inspections: daily/weekly/monthly follow-up (auto-belay, rope/top-rope anchors, bouldering surfaces, rental equipment), handling of deviations and emergency preparedness
  • Team and training: contribute to the duty roster, onboard and follow up staff/instructors, build culture and well-being
  • Maintenance and order: simple repairs, orders/follow-up of suppliers, tidy workshop and storage areas
  • Route setting as needed: coordinate/contribute to ensure a varied, inspiring and safe wall

We imagine that you have

  • Experience from a climbing venue/activity arena, shift management or instruction
  • A good understanding of health & safety and the ability to execute – systematic and solution-oriented
  • Confidence in customer interactions, communicate well (Norwegian and/or English)
  • Practically minded, enjoy responsibility and teamwork
  • (Plus) Experience with route setting and working at height

We offer

  • A varied and meaningful working day in a committed, professional team
  • A permanent position 50–100% by agreement
  • Opportunities for professional development in a growing chain of climbing centres
  • Free climbing, equipment benefits and an inclusive environment
  • Competitive terms based on experience
