SNØborgen (the snow castle)

SNØborgen is designed for children between 3 and 10, but the whole family can have fun whatever their age. Here they can climb in the snow castle, crawl through snow caves and slide down ice slides – all year round. The area is designed for safe and fun play, with soft edges and clearly laid-out zones. In the warm zone you can take a break with a packed lunch you've brought along or visit one of the restaurants.

It's -4 degrees in SNØborgen, so remember winter clothes (a snowsuit, mittens, a hat, preferably wool next to the skin). A snowsuit can be hired for NOK 95 (from size 86) and shoes for NOK 60 (from size 24).

Children (2–13): weekdays NOK 135 / weekend NOK 155
14+: weekdays NOK 155 / weekend NOK 165
Extra adult: NOK 50

With a valid SNØ pass (day pass, punch card, season pass or membership for the alpine slope/cross-country trail), entry to SNØborgen costs NOK 50 – one ticket per SNØ pass, for the person who owns the pass. Children under 2 and adults accompanying children have free entry (max 2 adults per child).

Quick facts

SNØborgen is 30 metres long, 13 metres wide, with snow walls up to four metres, built over 4 levels. It has 2 ice slides, a mini slide, 3 tunnels, several climbing ropes and climbing features, as well as a balance beam. Capacity: up to 40 people at a time. Made from 100% snow (approx. 400 tonnes).
