BuldreJam at HUT Letohallen

This is BuldreJam

BuldreJam at HUT Letohallen is a popular event where we meet in a relaxed atmosphere to try different bouldering challenges (or "problems" as we call them in boulder-speak). In other words: it's all about bouldering and more bouldering, but with the chance to meet like-minded people or experience a new side of climbing, if you've never tried bouldering before!

If you take part in BuldreJam you get the chance to win prizes, make new friends and improve your bouldering skills!

But what is bouldering, then? Bouldering is climbing without a rope or harness – you just use climbing shoes to climb up and across (and maybe a dash of chalk for a slightly better grip!). Bouldering is a versatile activity where you use your body in many different – and unfamiliar – ways. It's also a social activity! Where traditional climbing is something you do on high walls, bouldering takes place on lower walls, which makes it easier to communicate with both bouldering friends and instructors who can give you support, motivation and tips.

BuldreJam makes bouldering extra fun!

We hold BuldreJam because we think it's fun to gather the whole crowd! We invite you and others who boulder – or want to boulder. The community is one of the best things about bouldering – we think. We hope you'll join us, and maybe spark a little competitive flame in you! Whether you compete against yourself or against friends or new people you can meet with us.

How BuldreJam works

BuldreJam is about bouldering as many routes as possible within 2.5 hours. You fill in your own scorecard and collect points based on how many tops and zones you manage to reach. This is what you get points for:

• Top: You get points by reaching the top of a boulder and holding on with both hands on the top hold.

• Zone: If you don't reach the top but manage to hold on to a hold on the bouldering wall, you get points for a zone.

Of course you also get an extra plus just for joining in!

After the competition we finish with a prize draw, where everyone has a chance to win something.

Prices for BuldreJam?

• If you already have a punch card or membership, you only need a "scorecard". This costs NOK 100.

• If you need both entry to the climbing centre and a scorecard, choose "Scorecard + entry ticket". This costs NOK 200.

Climbing Pub for adults

From 21:00 to 23:00 we set an 18-year age limit at the climbing centre. Sorry kids! During this period adults can gather for pizza and a cosy time for a few hours.

If you're one of those over 18 who wants to join the Climbing Pub, remember to order pizza BEFORE the jam starts. Then our staff have time to sort everything out by the time BuldreJam is over.

Keep an eye on our website for the next BuldreJam date.

Let's jam!
